Knowing how to use minoxidil correctly will lead to the best results (hello amazing head of hair!). But before we get into that, we wanted to provide a quick refresher on what it actually is so you know what you’re putting on your head every day.

Minoxidil is a topical treatment that’s clinically proven to slow hair loss and promote hair growth for men experiencing male pattern baldness.

To get the full impact of this topical solution (you know, slowing down hair loss and regrowing lost hair) you need to apply twice a day, every day. (If you’re having trouble remembering to take it, here are a few tips to help make it easier.) Most men see a difference after four to six months of twice daily use. This is our long-winded way of saying consistency is key to seeing results.

To apply minoxidil solution:

  1. Make sure your hair and scalp are dry (you don’t need to shampoo before each application).
  2. Fill the dropper to the 1ML mark (that’s one dose).
  3. Apply the dose to the crown (a.k.a. the vertex) of your scalp. Pro tip: Make five to six parts in your hair and apply one drop along each part line.
  4. Once applied, you can rub it in.
  5. Avoid getting your hair wet for at least four hours after applying.

That’s it! Easy enough, right?
