Proven premature ejaculation prescriptions
While there are no FDA-approved medications to treat premature ejaculation, your provider may recommend an “off-label” prescription to address your symptoms.
Erectile dysfunction medications (like sildenafil citrate†, also known as generic Viagra®) and certain antidepressant medications have been shown to delay ejaculation in clinical studies. Some treatment options have been shown to help men last up to five times longer.*

What is premature ejaculation?
Premature ejaculation (PE), or early climax, happens when ejaculation occurs sooner than preferred during a sexual encounter.§
What causes premature ejaculation?
The exact cause of PE is unknown. However, a number of factors can contribute to PE, including mental health conditions (like depression, anxiety, and stress), biological factors (like hormonal imbalances or genetics), and even erectile dysfunction (ED).§
What does off-label mean?†
An off-label medication is one prescribed by a provider for a different purpose than what the FDA has approved it for. It is legal and common for providers to do this when they believe a medication could benefit their patient. Off-label medications are common in situations where: -There is no FDA-approved drug to treat a condition -There is evidence that a medication works well for off-label use
What is sildenafil citrate?
Sildenafil citrate† is a generic form of Viagra®, an oral medication FDA-approved for treating erectile dysfunction. While it is not FDA-approved to treat premature ejaculation, clinical studies indicate that it can help delay climax.
* Individual results may vary.
† Sildenafil citrate tablets (25mg, 50mg, & 100mg), Rx only, has not been approved by the FDA as safe and effective to treat premature ejaculation, however emerging evidence suggests that sildenafil citrate is a safe and effective treatment option for premature ejaculation. Sildenafil citrate may also cause side effects including headache, flushing, and indigestion. By providing this content, Thirty Madison, Inc. in no way supports or endorses the use of this product for such condition(s). Such determination must be made by a licensed clinician who may prescribe sildenafil citrate because in their clinical judgment, use of the product is medically appropriate.
