Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for hair loss—a treatment process in which doctors inject a patient’s own plasma into their hair follicles—has been shown in some studies to promote regrowth, but has not been approved by the FDA to treat male pattern baldness and may only be effective for those with early-stage hair loss.
